I get some really amazing people coming through my programs that I feel need a shout out for their hard work and consistent positive attitude. Christine Lepage is one of those people.

Christine is not an average woman. She's an above average woman.

Although Christine does deal with Cerebral Palsy, that's never been a reason for her to stop pursuing her fitness goals.

My personal experience with Christine has been nothing short of phenomenal.

She is the epitome of what strong will, reckless abandon, and a joyful outlook can do for someone in life.

Here she is.

Age: 34

What do you do for a living?

I am a receptionist for the city of Edmonton.

What do you do outside of that?

Swim every so often, read, social outings and board games.

How long have you been training with Titanium Strength:

9.5 months

What does being "strong" mean to you?

I am strong because I refuse to give up in the persuit to be the best me I can be.

What is your all-time favourite exercise and why?

I like anything that focuses on upper body strength. These are the exercises that don't hold me back, as the issues with my legs and balance are no longer front and centre.

45lb pushups on smith machine at level 2

What's most important to you in terms of your fitness goals?

To know that I can trust my body enough to be self sufficient and completely independent.

What are some of your gym essentials? (E.g. music playlist, pre-workout, head band, tank top to show off your gains)

A water bottle and a good pair of running shoes.

If you could do accomplish any task in the world, what would it be?

To remove stereotypes (around cerebral palsy) and teach everyone to never judge a book by its cover.

Do you like to train alone or with a training partner? Why?

A training partner. Having a partner allows you to feed off each others energy, increase motivation and create accountability.

What's the best compliment you've been given? How did you feel about it?

"You're an inspiration."

It feels good to know that I don't fit the stereotype that's often cast upon me.

Who's the last person you encouraged to start strength training?

I haven't. I needed to be comfortable in my own abilities before encouraging others.

(Author's notes: to clarify, Christine has unwittingly encouraged quite a few of her co-workers to start training through her videos and conversations over Facebook. They come to me telling me it was Christine who inspired them to start taking their health seriously.)

What drives you to train?

The need to create a routine and improve the way I view myself.

What are some of things you've struggled with during your coaching?

Accepting positive reinforcement.

What are some things you've done really well at?

Always giving it my all. Sometimes the muscles don't respond the way I want them to, but I never give up.

What is one habit you're working on improving right now?

Ending the negative self talk that runs through my head.

What is the one thing you want to achieve by the end of your training with Titanium Strength?

Unassisted pull-ups

(Author's Notes: She's currently doing about 16-20 band assisted pull-ups)

How has coaching helped you change your life?

The fear of venturing out on my own has disappeared. Confidence in my body's ability has grown exponentially. My posture, strength and appearance have changed so much that it's almost shocking when I see myself.

What would you tell someone who's on the fence about starting their training with Titanium Strength?

If you're truly committed to seeing results you won't regret your decision to start. You've got nothing to lose and everything to gain.
